Donna
Lawrence
Donna began her career with the DOC after
graduating from Morgan State University with a B.S. in
Psychology and a M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling from
Virginia Commonwealth University. She has held a number of
positions during her 29 years with the DOC, to include
Institutional Parole Officer, Probation and Parole Officer,
Parole Examiner, Certification Analyst, Certification
Supervisor and currently she is the Manager of the
Compliance and Accreditation Unit. As Manager, she is the
liaison between the Department and the American Correctional
Association, and functions as Compliance Manager for all ACA
audited facilities in the DOC. Currently, there are 22 ACA
accredited institutions, the Academy for Staff Development
and Southampton Men’s Detention Center.
Donna is an ACA certified auditor and has completed
Executive Leadership training with NIC and the Commonwealth
Management Institute with VCU.
She has been on the board of the HCA Retreat Hospital
Institutional Review Board since 2006, and is a member of
the American Cancer Society’s Reach to Recovery Program
since 2002. Donna is also a member of ACA and VCA. Last but
definitely not least, she is the proud mother of two grown
sons who reside in Florida. |
