William Dewey Jennings, Ph.D.
Employment History
I began my career in 1997 as an Institutional Safety
Specialist at James River Correctional Center. I
transferred to Fluvanna Correctional Center and was the
Safety Specialist at that facility from March 1997 until
March 1998. I was promoted to Operations Officer at
Fluvanna Correctional Center in March of 1998 and worked in
this capacity until September 2004.
In
September of 2004 I was promoted to Senior Research Analyst
for the Research and Management Services Unit. I was then
promoted to Management Lead Analyst in September of 2006
and worked in the capacity as the assistant to the Deputy
Director of Operations. In September of 2008 I was promoted
to Assistant Warden at Deep Meadow Correctional Center.
Educational Experience
I obtained my Bachelors Degree from Virginia Commonwealth
University (VCU) in 1993. I received a Masters Degree in
Public Administration from VCU in 1998. In December of 2005
I was awarded a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the Center for
Public Policy at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Associations
I am currently a member of both the American Correctional
Association and the Virginia Correctional Association.
