Elton W.
Blackstock
Elton W. Blackstock is a native and resident of Pittsylvania
County. He is a graduate of Danville Community College with
an Associates Degree in Administration of Justice.
Mr.
Blackstock began his career in criminal justice in the U. S.
Navy. He has approximately 29 years of experience in the
criminal justice field.
He has
progressed through the ranks from Officer to his current
position of Administrator with the Blue Ridge Regional Jail
Authority.
Mr.
Blackstock was elected and served on the Pittsylvania County
School.
Board
from 1997 – 2000. He is currently serving on the Board of
Directors for the Western Region Jail Association and the
Virginia Association of Regional Jails. He is a member of
the American Jail Association and the American Correctional
Association. He is the Vice-Chairman of the Criminal
Justice Advisory Board for Danville Community College. In
addition, he serves on numerous committees for the Virginia
Department of Corrections.
Elton is
married to Sue Dalton Blackstock and has two adult children. |
